| Bio: | I enjoy connecting with people and learning through every interaction. I've lived on four continents and an island. Close friends are my family and the world is my home. I am currently in the process of figuring out where I will be living next- and these next few months will involve a lot of moving around between continents and countries (Europe, South America, North America, Africa). My attempts and understanding of the US- where I most recently lived for an extended period of time- often feel like a lot of 'fail'. It frustrates me. For some reason that place has been harder than the rest- and it's probably my own expectations and tendencies toward perfectionism that are getting in the way. Balance is important. I strive for it. Honesty too... I cannot tolerate anything less. I like to surround myself with intelligent, thinking, creative, positive people. And those who try to understand others- secure enough in themselves to do so. They inspire me and make the world a better place. I believe in putting ourselves into many different situations, including those that are uncomfortable, because it is through experiences that we grow. Those that are beyond what is familiar seem to stretch the mind the most. I'll try most things once, and will often try things I didn't like a second time. To be sure. I very much enjoy all of my senses... feeding them frequently. More of that whole 'experience' thing. I'm opinionated but my opinions are usually well thought out and supported... and subject to change should I learn more. I'm not above admitting I was 'wrong' and humility is important. I respect when people call me out on something or can make a good argument- as long as they actually know what they're talking about. I suppose 'passionate' would be a good word to swap with 'opinionated'. I prefer a pen and paper and the freedom to match my words to my thoughts through their shape and flow... hard to duplicate with the computer. This journal is one of many outlets. It is not always very interesting, it is often cryptic, and yet sometimes I say too much. I've learned that the more I share the more I must hide. But not necessarily. Or maybe that's just my insecurity, and general need to be understood, talking. I'm less than reckless and getting a fair amount of 'real-time' stimulation so I no longer need a journal as my secret escape. This means there are more accounts of the mundane... so that I may access them later. My thoughts are often disjointed. I'm okay with that. It all connects, eventually. I'm a crazy cat lady in the making... but not really. I do, however, speak often and fondly of my cats.  These are my 'studio cats'. Disclaimer: Some of this is real... some of it is not. Emotions are real but experiences easily forgot. Don't read into things where there is nothing to be read. It is no more than an experiment when all is done and said. **Also- you do not have my permission to take anything from my journal without asking first.** I love bugs and diseases and medicine, I'm multilingual (Portuguese, Spanish, Dutch, French, English- these are my 'native' languages from places I've lived... but I can get by in more than that- and I'm actively working on Arabic), I train horses and get paid for my hobby, music is an essential part of my life, good tasty healthy food is fun and necessary, and I like figuring out how other people tick. | |
